I have windows mail to access my gmail account. I can receive messages from
my gmail account, but cannot send messages. I get the following error:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject '', Account:
'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 456,
Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Can anyone help?

Change smtp port from 456 to 465

Tools > Accounts > your email > Properties > Advanced

Votre serveur a mis fin à la connexion de manière inattendue. Les causes
possibles peuvent être des problèmes au niveau du serveur ou du réseau, ou
une trop longue période d'inactivité. Objet 'Re: CV: Thanh Tri Dung Nguyen ',
Compte : 'pophm.sympatico.ca', Serveur : 'smtphm.sympatico.ca', Protocole :
SMTP, Port : 25, Sécurisé (SSL) : Oui, Erreur de socket : 10053, Numéro
d'erreur : 0x800CCC0F

What should I do?

Thank for your help

If you had the same problem you'd have the same message!

As you can see above... you did not specify port 456
rather than 465 like the other user.
What should I do?

You should not confuse the issue by piggy backing threads

but it's too late for that now I suppose... Sigh...

Are you using Norton or McAfee anti virus software?

Re "(SSL) : Oui", are you sure Sympatico supports SSL?
Try it without: Tools, Accounts, select the pophm.sympatico.ca
account, Properties, Advanced.
