Can't send mail to a domain

I am running Exchange 2000 on Windows 2000 server. DNS is provided by
the domain controller, also running Windows 2000. I can send mail to
everyone else, but am unable to send mail to a particular domain
(problemdomain.com). I ran nslookup to check their MX records and
found the following:

problemdomain.com mail exchanger = 40 mail1.anotherdomain.net.
problemdomain.com mail exchanger = 0 smtp.problemdomain.com.
problemdomain.com mail exchanger = 30 mail2.anotherdomain.net.

mail1.anotherdomain.net. internet address = xxx.xx.xxx.xxx
mail2.anotherdomain.net. internet address = xxx.xx.xxx.xxx
smtp.problemdomain.com. internet address =
yy.yyy.yyy.yy

Everytime I send mail to problemdomain.com, the mail is delivered to
the mail server at xxx.xx.xxx.xxx, which refuses delivery (that's
another issue). However, I can send mail to problemdomain.com from
personal accounts, such as Yahoo, etc. In addition, problemdomain.com
tells me that no one else has problems sending them mail. I can
telnet to smtp.problemdomain.com, so I am able to reach it.

Thanks for any suggestions!

k> problemdomain.com mail exchanger = 40 mail1.anotherdomain.net.
k> mail1.anotherdomain.net. internet address = xxx.xx.xxx.xxx

This problem report is useless. Please provide correct information.

Include the error messages as well. We aren't clairvoyant. We
won't know what the problem is without knowing what the error messages
are.

Do you have a reverse lookup on the public address for your mail server?
problemdomain.com may require a reverse lookup of your mail server IP as
many do.

Or your Mail server IP is on an Open Relay list, and problemdomain.com does
not accept mail from Open relays.
to check that go to www.dnsstuff.com and put your IP address in the Spam
Database Lookup and reverse lookup tool.

Other than that, all we can do is guess since you don't give enough info to
properly diagnose this.
