Can't send large attachments

I can't seem to find the place in Outlook to change the size of outgoing
attachments. My ISP has a 10mb limit but Outlook seems to balk at anything
larger than 2mb.

Anyone?

Cable/DSL or dialup? If Cable/DSL, are you behind a router (Linksys) that
lets you share a single IP address with many computers?

I'll assume the yes is to the last part of the questions...

Adjust your MTU to 1460. Steps vary based on operating system, but it is
well documented on the internet on how to adjust.

MTu is set to 1500 on my dlink 614+ router. And I have DSL. Should I
reduce the MTU in the router settings to 1460?

leave the router alone. you will be changing the registry on your windows
box to send packets a little smaller than what the router will pass. if you
tell me what operating system you are using, i can tell you where to make
the change.

I'm running XP Home on this computer.

If you start Regedit and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interf
aces

you will find folders underneath with long alpha-numeric names. One of
those folders will contain a valid IPAddress value (not 0.0.0.0). Go to
that folder and select Edit | New | Dword. Rename New Value #1 to MTU.
Double click on MTU. Change radio button from Hexadecimal to Decimal and
type in 1460. Select OK button. Close Regedit and reboot.
