Can't send emails

I've just set up Windows mail today and I can receive emails but when I try
to send them they don't go past my outbox and I get the following error
message
"The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Travel bug....', Account:
'mail.bigpond.com', Server: 'mail.bigpond.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"
any ideas?

Are you on their network when you try to send, or away from home or at work?
If you are on another network, they probably won't let you send thru their
server...

Why are you connecting through TELUS but trying to send through BigPond?
You can't do that.
