Can't send email with Window Mail

D

DD

I have set up my account 5 or 6 times. I have roadrunner as my internet
provider. the pop is pop-server.wi.rr.com and smtp is smtp-server.wi.rr.com

I was able to send one email and then I closed windows mail. 10 mins later,
went back in to try and send an email and I received this error message.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Re: Computer', Account: 'Home', Server:
'smtp-server.wi.rr.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0F

Any ideas?

Try turning off your anti-virus and send a message. If that works, then the
AV is probably your problem.

I have tried turning all of them off too. Nothing works. I just tried to
delete the account and restart and now I still can't send emails. I can
receive emails just fine though.

For a few antivirus programs, just turning them off is often not enough.
Which antivirus programs do you have?

Also, does your connection to that server cross over from one internet
provider's equipment to another's before it reaches the server? If so,
such connections to port 25 are often blocked to cause trouble for
spammers.

Please identify your antivirus program.
With some antivirus programs, "turning off" is not sufficient.
It may have to be uninstalled and replaced with a more
compatible one.

I'm not even getting error messages -- I'm just constantly sending the
same email, which never completes.

Did any one get a actual solution -- something that worked?

Can you make it stop trying to send that email by moving it from
the Outbox to the Drafts folder or deleting it? You might have to
disconnect from the internet first if it's already trying to send it.
If it refuses to move or delete, let us know.
