Can't send email in Outlook 2003

Gary

I normally use Eudora and have been getting messages that it cannot connect
with my incoming or outgoing server. I work at a university. I then set up
an IMAP account in Outlook and could view my new mail just fine. However,
when I went to send a message I received error code 0x80042109. I looked
that up and found an MS kb article about it. I had already disabled email
scanning in Symantec as well as added a firewall exception (Windows
firewall). I then downloaded and installed Thunderbird and same thing
happened: I could view new mail, but could not send.

I realize that this problem is not just limited to Outlook, but I'd
appreciate it if someone would please provide some insight to this problem.
Thank you.

Disabling Norton will not work all the time. You need to uninstall it via their uninstall tool and then re-install it without the email integration. Better still get rid of it completely and use something else like Avast,Nod32.AVG etc
