Can't see itself in Repair Install

Hello,

Got a system restarting... pulled the drive, hooked it up
to another "Clean" system and did a AV/Adware Scan.
No viruses and a few minor adware files.
Still blue screens for a microsecond and reboots.
Safe mode does the same thing.
I boot off the 2000 Cd and select R then C
for the command prompt. It finds the WINNT
folder, then asks for the administrator password.
All that works. I do a chkdsk /p and try again.
Still reboots. Boot off cd again and select R
then R again then F for fast repair then L
cause I don't have an emergency disk.
It cannot find a windows installation.
I guess what I don't understand is that It can see
it from a command prompt, but not from a repair install.
What else is it looking for? Maybe I can point it in the right
direction. It's in the standard C:\WINNT directory.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
JohnnyB
