Can't see Internet Sharing option?

Hello,

I have been trying to share Cable Internet Connection which I'm the Host of,
with my Housemate. I use Cable Modem, straight to my Computer. So, my
Housemate bought Netgear Router which has given us a almost a nervous
breakdown, since we cannot succesfully use it. Logged in with them so many
times, followed all thier recommendations still no success.

Now, let me get bact to point; someone mentioned to me "why bother Router,
when you can use Internet Sharing Option of Windows". Well, I tried but found
out that Option isn't there for me(Network Connections, Right Click,
Properties, Advanced. Under Advanced there Windows Firewall?.

Can someone show me the way here please?. Thanks, Han.

Hi,
If you're running XP Pro there will be a Network Setup Wizard in your
control panel under Network and Internet Connections.

That should configure the internet connection, the sharing, and your firewall.

The ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) option only appears when all of
these are true:

1. There are two or more network connections: one for the Internet,
and one or more for the home network (LAN).

2. The home network connection(s) are enabled and connected.

3. The Internet connection is not bridged.

I've written a web page that should help with setting up ICS::

Most people find that setting up a router is easier and more reliable
than setting up Internet Connection Sharing.

XP Home Edition also has the Network Setup Wizard.
