Reasons for this:
You might have been in Normal view instead of Page Layout. Normal view
doesn't show headers.
There's an option to hide white spaces between pages in Page Layout view,
which hides the headers. You can regulate this in Tools | Options, View tab
(I think), or:
[Quoting Charles Kenyon]:
"The headers you are not seeing (when in print view, not in normal view?)
are probably missing because you have the "display white space" option
turned
off. Try moving your mouse cursor to the thin area between the top of the
page and the ruler. It should change into something new and if you wait a
moment a message should pop up saying "Show white space." Click and your
headers will be displayed again."

Thanks, yes I have. I have figured out that it has
something to do with my styles. I copied the document into
a new doc and now I can see everything! I still am not
sure exactly what happened, but think i messed up my
normal.dot template.

picturues/diagrams try adjusting their size.
