I can not find all 80 GB on my hard drive.

1. Western Digital WD8000BB-00BSA0 80 GB (I wrote 0's to drive before installing XP.)
2. BIOS VER. 1.0A 1998, Mother board BCM Mod. QS440BX, not using HD Controler.
3. Fresh install of Windows XP.
4. Partition and formating done by XP.
5. XP made 2 partitions, I installed Partition magic and made one partition.
6. FAT32
7. Pins are set correctly.
8. No it is not new. I have used this drive before.
9. I have run DLG and it reported drive was good.

How much can you find? It is normal for *Some* to be *Missing* (eg: 120GB
Western Digital=111GB...approx).

have you checked your jumper positions? You can limit the size of a hard
drive by a config of jumpers

You would need to format NTFS during the setup process for it to make a
difference. To resize the drive now you would have to use something like
Partition Magic.
If you go to disk management can you create a second partition in the free
space.??

Isn't FAT32 limited to 32GB.??
Or am I thinking of something else.

Yes, there is a FAT limit of 32 Gig's. If you formatted to FAT it created a
partition of 32 Gig's or less. Even though you converted to NTFS, the
partition is still only the size it was before you converted. Go to disk
management and see if you don't have "unallocated" space on the drive. If
so, you can format that space and assign a drive letter from within disk
manager. You can access disk manager from "control panel>administrative
tools>computer management>disk management.
