Can't Run Defragmenter

Whenever I start up defragmenter I get this message: This
version of Disk Defragmenter does not support running
more than one instance." even though I have not yet
selected a volume for analysis or defragmentation. Any
thoughts/advice?

Joel,

Open Task Manager and look for an instance of dfrgntfs.exe or dfrgfat.exe.
If you find one, this would indicate that a defrag is running on a drive.
