Can't Right-Click Programs On Start Menu

Greg

I just did a clean install of WindowsXP Professional on a new system (P4
2.6C 800MHz FSB, 512MB PC2300 RAM, Asus P4G800-V Motherboard, Seagate 80GB
7,200 RPM SATA HD, GeForceFX 5600XT 128MB) and I'm unable to right-click the
items on the Start Menu. For example, I want to sort the menu items under
"All Programs" but when I right-click the menu it just flashes. I had this
problem before installing any patches. I now have SP1 and all of the
patches but still the same problem. I have no trouble right-clicking
anywhere else, it's just the Start Menu.

Anyone have any ideas?

I found my problem... maybe it's the same as yours. For some reason Drag &
Drop was not checked marked in the Start Menu properties. See if yours is:
right-click Start Menu, click Properties, click "Customize", select the
"Advanced" tab, and make sure "Enable dragging and dropping" is check
marked. It's in the "Start menu items" box under Control Panel.
