Can't return task bar to 'Locked' ??

Hi All,

I'm trying to sort a machine for a friend.
At some point she has set the task bar to auto-hide,
but now we can't get it back to the locked state ??

Gone through Start|Properties|Task Bar| "Lock The Task Bar",
ticked the box and applied etc, but the bar still hides ?
When i go back into the properties again, the box is unchecked.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

You are confusing LOCKING it with HIDING it. If you don't want it to hide,
you go to START/PROPERTIES/TASKBAR then UNCHECK the "auto-hide taskbar" box.
That's it.
Locking it, has to do with being able to move the "quick launch" section and
other sections ON the taskbar.
