can't rename a file

I renamed a Bitcomet part file (.bc!) to .avi to preview it. Now I
can't rename it to its original status. Every time I try I get message
that it is being used by anothe programme or person. Restarting or
renaming don't help. I tried it before starting any programme. There is
no programme in the startup either. What should I do?
Please help

Boot into safe mode and rename it.
