Can't Re-Name SoftwareDistribution Folder

Windows Defender won't update. Told to rename SotwareDistribution folder in
safe mode. All goes well until I right click on the specified folder. Then
system hangs and no offer to rename. If I could rename folder as old and
then restart I could fix the problem with the Defender update. I am the only
user and have Admin priveleges. Home Premium with no other issues. Please
help! Thanks

Either grant full control to the Users group or take ownership of the
folder, then rename it.
