I use a HP 2410 all in one printer that has a feature called HP Director
;Which act as a a control panel for of the unit's Features.

The problem is, I can't open the control panel( HP Director file; which
provides access to the scanner , fax, picture gallery, image tranfer for a
few). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the orginal software, unloaded and
downloaded the latest software fron Hp's site, ordered a new CD with the
latest software and installed it and I still can't open the file.

I can print , send and receive faxes manually

As for maintance, I have cleaned / dumped all temp files , defragged , Hired
an It Person to attempt to fix the problem. He recommended that I unstall the
XP operating system and start fresh.

No help from Hp . their advice is I have a software problem.

NOTE ALL FEATURES WORKED FOR APPROXIMATEY SIX (6) MONTHS.

HELP!!!

Check if you have the Director's executable file at the below path.
"C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\Hpqdirec.exe"
Use Windows Explorer, if it is not there, than it is not installed or you
may have moved to another location, thus the shortcut/icon will not work. Do
a search
for the Hpqdirec.exe and it should be somewheres on your harddrive
unless you deleted it.

I thanks for the response, I did the search as you suggested and yes the
file is located where you said to look.

To made sure it was there, I uninstalled it and reinstalled and still have
the problem.

I think maybe it's time to purchase another unit , I don't think it will be
another Hp, I am afraid that whatever caused this problem will remain once
i've cleaned out all of the 2410's files.

It's ashame , because the unit is only approximately a5 months old.
