Can't open many PPoint 2000 Presentations in PPoint 2007

I can't open many of my older presentations in PPoint 2007. I've read the
solutions for other people's similar problems in 2003, but PPoint 2007
doesn't have a "Help" menu, so I can find how to look for updates.

Is it so difficult to make new upgrades backward compatible? Obviously, it
is. Does anyone out there know how to solve this problem?

If your presentations that do not open are backward compatible with
PowerPoint 95, they will not open in 2007 which only goes back as far as 97.
Pressing F1 will produce your help files. and if you click on The Windows
Button, PowerPoint Options, then Resources, you will then have the option to
check for updates.

Pam,
If it's updates you are looking for, Office-button - Options for
PowerPoint - on your left choose the last option Information sources - right
at the top there is a button to search for updates.

Hi

Thanks for this information, but what would I be updating? Sorry to sound
stupid, but I've only seen that there is a converter that I can download to
open PPoint 2007 documents in PPoint 2000, but I need a converter to do the
opposite. Some of the presentations were created in 1998, so they should
open. It seems that the ones I can't open contain a ".jpg" image that I
scanned. Why should that be?
