cant open back up .pst file

properties are read only, when i uncheck and apply get error message = error
occurred applying attributes to the file.... access denied.

What am I doing wrong, and how can I access this file please? Thanks

Copy it to your harddisk first. A CD-ROM is a read only medium by
definition.

Do you have set (NTFS) permissions on that directory to make the folder
private?
Is Outlook closed (and the outlook.exe process not running) when you try to
change attributes?

I have tried with outlook close, however dont think (!) I have permissions
set to private as can open other folders
