Can't Modify Short Date Format in Regional Settings

A

Angelo Syrniotis

I'm trying to modify the date field in the regional setting on my pc for use
with a particular construction software package we use at work and I get the
following error message when I try to apply the new date settings:

"One or more of the characters you typed in this field are invalid. Try
typing different characters."

I'm actually not typing anything custom in the short date format but rather
picking one of the typical formats that are already included in the default
drop down menu. As far as I can tell all my regional setting are correctly
set for the English language.

I've already scoured the Microsoft Windows Knowledge Base and have come up
empty. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance.
