I have been having a problem with logging on to my account. It was sporadic a first and a system restore seemed to resolve it but it occured again. The event view lists the source as Product Activation. I have been running fine for the last two years

An error occurred while the wizard was checking the current Windows product license. Error Code: 8: 0x800705aa

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Go to Start > Run and type:
regsvr32 regwizc.dll
regsvr32 licdll.dll

Good luck

You're welcome, Joannega
Glad it worked.

What might've happened is that in the process of renewing your
subscription, a Norton file interfered with and unregistered the dll.
Norton sometimes causes massive interference in Windows. also being
the version 2002, it might have issues with XP.
