Can't login into Domain from new XP Pro SP2 system

Trying to setup a new PC with XP Pro and SP2. I need to allow the user to
access a domain and Exchange server. IIRC, one of the things that could be
set in the User Accounts setting was how a user could log on and if it was to
a domain or workgroup. That doesn't seem to be an option any more. When I
try to configure Outlook for the user, I get prompted to login into the
domain, but it will not accept the user name/pw. So, now what? My Exchange
server is 5.5 and the domain is NT 4.0.
TIA
