Can't log in to computer!!

I am cleaning up a windows 2000 computer(removing some programs). It wasn't
connected to the network at the time and remove all user accounts but the
admin & guest accounts. I disjoined the computer from the domain to a
workgroup (remember without being connected to the network) and upon reboot I
can't log in under the admin or guest account. Niether password works and
blank passwords don't work. What happened? How can I get into this thing to
reset?

You need to ask your network administrator to re-register
your machine on the domain, or to give you a local admin
account/password. Note that the local admin account is
usually NOT the same as the domain admin account. Your
administrator would know what it is, because he typed it
in when initially loading Win2000.

I am the Network Administrator. We use the same password for all the admin
accounts here. However your saying I can reset the computer account in the
Domain and then be able to sogn back on. The only problem as I said before, I
disjoined from the domain while the computer wasn't connected to the network.
It's now a memeber of workgroup.

If you cannot log on as a local administrator then the
password you use is incorrect. You can easily protect
yourself against this type of mishap by setting up an
alternative admin account when first configuring the
machine, same as you have two sets of keys for your
car. If one gets lost then you use the other set.

Reboot the machine with a disk from the site below,
then reset the local admin password to a blank.

The usual process is to boot off the floppy disk downloaded
from the site whose address I gave you. You can also
manufacture a bootable CD with this floppy disk. I have
done it myself and it works very nicely. If it does not work
on your machine then something went wrong with the burn
process - perhaps you did not select "make bootable CD".

when you removed it from the domain you broke the credentials it had cached
for the accounts there were created in the domain. if you think you have a
local admin account password change the domain to the local computer name in
the login box and pray that it works. otherwise take it back to the network
admin and beg them to put it back on the domain. if you can't do that then
search some of the security groups for links to password hacking tools, or
just reinstall from scratch and have a nice clean machine.
