Can't load program

Hi. I don't know where else to get help but seeing as it's all within
Windows maybe someone can direct me .

Friend of mine was trying to load McAfee (contacted them but couldn't help)
she was getting a message saying that she needed to remove a program called
CA eTrust before continuing. She didn't even know she had it.
It was not listed in Add/Remove Programs and she looked everywhere for the
uninstall file but couldn't find it so she deleted the folder CA eTrust
which was found in her D drive .
But unfortunately she's still getting this message.
I can only access her pc through remove assistance as I'm in UK and she's in
France.
I looked in regedit and couldn't find anything that resembled eTrust.

Is there anyway of being able to resolve this?

She's getting the message to uninstall eTrust because you shouldn't have two
antivirus programs or two firewalls running at the same time.

The correct way to uninstall a program is through Add or Remove Programs or
the program's own uninstall routine. Deleting the folder is the wrong thing
to do.

The best thing to do is to reinstall the eTrust program, reboot, then
uninstall it properly. If your friend no longer has the ability to install
the eTrust program (e.g. lost the install CD), she'll have to contact
Computer Associates and ask for manual uninstall instructions.
