Can't link to other web pages

When i try to link to another webpage i can't do so, nor can i open a page
in a new window. I've checked the.dll's as advised on the support page and
all are present, although my registry says wsock 32n.dll is missing,
although this should only be for IE4 and i'm running IE6 which i've
redownloaded. When i went to Wayne's web page for help it said i was running
IE4 but when i checked my own PC it said i was running IE6. At the same time
as this problem first started my homepage was hijacked , but i've solved
that with Browser Blaster. I've also run AVG anti-virus, Ad-aware and Trojan
Remover. This problem is driving me nuts any help much appreciated. Thanks.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

If that doesn't fix it, go to Start | Run and type

regsvr32 urlmon.dll
