can't install xp service pack 2

I installed XP Home and downloaded XP SP 2 but when the update was loading
the new files I got error messages, "can't copy tsoc.dll", then "filename,
directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect", and then "sp2 setup
error: sp2 installation did not complete. Select 'OK' to undo the changes. So
I clicked OK.
The Windows Update website said to try again so I did. This time I got a
different error message, "can't copy file setupquy.dll", and error code
0x8007007b so I had to udo the changes again.
What's happening and how can I install this critical update?
Thank you.

This could be a problem with not having enough disk space. I would check your
C: drive to make sure that you have sufficient drive space, you'll need to
have about 1.8 gb of free space. If thats not the problem then maybe try
downloading the sp2 file from a different location.
