I have never heard of Service Packs Beta versions but you obviously have
something like that. Generally all kind of updates/upgrades are uninstall the
following way
Goto Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs
( now check on Show updates)

Find Service Pack 2 built ...

Remove it

Restart. You should now have SP1a , SP1 or now SP installed/built-in

Then visit this site and learn what you need to do before installing Service
Pack 2 of Windows XP (finished , non-beta version)

already tried that, i can't find the uninstallation for the beta Service
Pack, its not me who isnstalled it in the firstplace.. is there a way to make
Windows think that there's no BETA Service Pack installed?? maybe a
workaround in the registry or sth

Can you System restore to before the beta SP2 was installed. Whomever
gave you that needs their head examining...I beta tested SP2 but that was
ages ago.
I think your only answer is to format and reinstall.
You could slipstream SP2 with your original system CD using Autostreamer and
a burning programme such as Nero:
http://www.simplyguides.net/guides/using_autostreamer/using_autostreamer.shtml

That way you have a new system disk with everything you need, except the
latest updates since SP2 (60-odd depending on your set-up).

I should add the beta builds were all a bit dodgy when it came to removal, I
know I, in every case, reformatted. It gives the hard drive a good spring
cleaning anyway. You can always back up your important files and folders to
removable media.

Oh , this is impossible . I checked in MS sites so I understood the BETA
service pack is not available since the non-beta is live. Plus , he or
somebody else must have installed this beta service pack in the early 2004
when it first appeared.

No , format the hard drive and reinstall Windows. Before that , create a
back-up of your important data. Open my site and read a simple description
how to reinstall Windows =>useful
