can't install software after FBA

After I go thru FBA I need to install various software such as our app
software, video drivers, etc. I've been doing this successfully for some time
now.

I've recently added the system cloning tool to the build with a manual
setting on reseal. Now I'm finding that when I do installation of any
software package after FBA the installation seems to work without an error
but when I reboot, the files installed are gone ,the software doesn't show up
in the list of currently installed programs. and there is nothing in the
registry relating to the application installed. i.e. it's like the install
never happened. This seems to be the case for all the packages I need to setup
post-FBA. None of the installs are sticking.

Is it possible that the System Cloning Tool component or some setting in
that component is preventing software installations from sticking or could it
be something else.

Thanks,

Art

I have exactly the same problem I have a new Touchscreen ELO with 30 gig hard
drive with Xp embedded factory loaded. I have this problem as well the unit
works perfectly until switched off or reset and all the software installation
dissapears on reload. The computer reverts to default load.

Do you have the system cloning tool component in your image? I never had any
problem doing installations after FBA until I started incorporating the
system cloning tool. I'll post here if and when I find the source of the
problem.

Not sure what that is can it be uninstalled. Mine is a new commercial
installation.

In my case the problem was that the EWF setting had been accidentally changed
to RAM overlay instead of disk overlay. RAM overlays don't preserve settings
in the registry; disk overlays do; that's why I couldn't install. If you
can't do installs you should check with the developer to see what the EWF
setting is, in the event he's using EWF.
