Can't install Shockwave

I've been unable to download and install Shockwave. The download page says
it is downloaded, but the "movie" doesn't play, and I can find no evidence it
has installed. I've cleaned the caches, cookies, tracks, etc., to no avail.
My hunch is that it is somehow related to cookie or site blocking, but can't
find where. We had Shockwave until last Thursday, when it just
disappeared.........???

Usually at web pages you'd need flash player not shockwave.Also,try internet
options,settings,view objects.You need an active X from macromedia to run
shockwave or flash,if the active X exist,R.click on it,select update.
