Can't install security patches for IE 6

I can't seem to install the KB912812 security patch for IE. It doesn't
install through automatic updates or when I manually download it. When I run
the downloaded executable, I get the following message:

KB912812 Setup canceled

Any ideas why this is happening? I did change my default program files
directory from "C:\Program Files" to "G:\Apps". Could that be causing the
problem?

I have EXACTLY the same problem! Help would be nice. I also changed the
default directory.
