Can't install Pro upgrade -- asks for nVidia AGP Filter

J

John Aldrich

I've got a couple PCs I need to upgrade to XP Pro, but I get an error
during the install process that I have an incompatible nVidia AGP
filter installed and I need to update it. Only problem is that these
computers have INTEL graphics, not nVidia. I have updated the Intel
graphics driver and it doesn't help.

I don't see anything in the add/remove programs about nVidia. These
are both HP Pavilion PCs. I know the latest one I tried to work on is
a Pavilion 532W. I have a 100% legit copy of the XP Pro install CD, so
I know that isn't the problem.

Any suggestions? How do I get it to perform the upgrade?

What are you upgrading from?
There isnt maybe a graphic card installed - other than the onboard intel -?

I would try removing the "enhanced" Intel driver and configure the
video to the plain "VGA" mode. Once the upgrade is done, then you can
always re-installed the Intel drivers.
