can't import data excel spreadsheet

I'm trying to import data from an excell spreadsheet into access. When I get
to the part where I click on the spreadsheet file, the file does not connect.
It works fine from my computer at home but won't import from work. I can
import from Access 2003 database to another access 2003 database but can't
seem to convert from Excell to Access.

What occurs when u say the file doen'st connect? Does an error box pop up?
Also are u trying to link or import because there should be no "connection"
if only doing an import? Thanks

Or if you could let me know exactly what steps you are taking in your import
process and what screens and messages pop up? Does your import screen
disappear, error out or ?

Thanks Donna (:)

I'm importing from access
I chose File
Import
then I went to the path where the spreadsheet was located.
I clicked on the name of the file and then nothng happens.

When I use the same procedure and try and import a table from another table
in another database, it works fine, and the wizard clicks in and everything
transfers like a breeze.

It seems like the wizard is not starting when I choose another format than a
database table.

My other wizards in my Access program are working the way they should.

I'm tried different things, such as connected a blank database on my hard
drive to a spreadsheet on my hard drive and also connected to shared drives,
thinking that might be the problem, but it still doesn't work.

I have Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 installed on my computer and my security
setting set to medium. I've switched it to low and still the same problems.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
