Can't get to vista computer from XP

I have 3 xp home computers and 1 new vista home computer. I share
directories on all my computers. I can see all the computers from each
computer, but cannot connect to the vista computer from any of the xp
machines. I can copy files from the vista computer to all the xp machines.
I followed the instructions on
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/network/evaluate/vista_fp.mspx#E2HAC.
The vista network is private, and I turned on all the sharing modes except
for password protection sharing. I activated the guest account. When I try
to connect from XP to Vista, it asks for a username and password, and then
says "\\HPvista is not accesseble. You might not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out
if you have all access permissions." I have tried using password protecting
sharing on as well as off with the same results. I need help and don't know
where to look. Any help would be appreciated.

I removed the login passwords from the xp computers and now everything is
working OK. I never could get password protection sharing to work.
