Can't get new XP to see other PCs on LAN

I have a small LAN currently running 3 PCs with Windows XP and a
machine running ME. The machine with ME on it was the first computer
and has always been used as the file share computer ("server").
Everything on this network works fine.

Now, I just added a new XP machine (call it "NEW") running XP Pro
Service Pack 2. I've got internet connection shared, but the NEW
machine can't connect to the ME computer to get the shared files like
all of the other XPs (which are also running XP Pro SP2). I have
checked the NEW machine up and down, it doesn't have any extra
protocols other than the 4 necessary, etc. etc.

I have discovered two issues though that I can't resolve.

1) The ME machine can NOT ping the NEW machine--the XP can ping the ME,
but not vice versa.

2) the NEW machine, after running browstat status, shows "browsing is
not active on this domain". I have tried going into services and
running it with computer browser disabled and enabled, but neither
makes a difference. I have changed the browser master setting on the ME
to automatic and master and that didn't change anything either.

If anyone can offer up any other suggestions, I'm open to trying them.
Note also, the NEW machine is brand new so it doesn't have a lot of
'extra' stuff on it. I have also disabled the windows firewall on the
new machine. I've checked the node to see if there was a conflict. It
seems to be ok, although is says node type unknown (but so do the other
XPs).

Got it fixed. . . I can't believe it was just the stupid Norton
Firewall blocking me the whole time. I thought I'd checked that, but I
guess I was wrong.
