Can't get into Safe mode

Everytime I restart my computer and want to get into Safe mode (to run a virus check or something). My computer boots too fast or I don't get the option of chosing an operating system. I press F8 but only get the option of playing around with my floppy drive. I even put my computer on slow boot, and still I can't access Safe Mode. Any suggestions?

Start..run..msconfig. Go to boot.ini tab and put a check in safeboot
and reboot. Remember to uncheck it before you reboot.
