Can't Get Audio Out of PC Speaker?

Susan

I know it is lame but I am selling my Desktop computer without the external
speaker system. I've been using those with the SoundBlaster Live card. I
would like to get all the basic System sounds out of the single mid-tower
speaker inside the Desktop but so far the only sound I DO GET is a single
beep from a cold Start--this is normal but at least means I do have this
tiny little speaker hooked up.

I noticed in the Audio Properties that under the Speaker settings |
Advanced... there is no option for the PC speaker BUT under the Play
Control there is PC Speaker and it's not muted and the volume is all the
way up on it. --still no sound from the PC speaker. I can click on any of
the Audio Properties I can select and click on any of the sounds and they
seem to run but there is no sound from that tiny speaker.

I've played with a couple of BIOS settings to no avail. Any IDEAS please
or does all this mean that TODAY, even though there is a PC Speaker in the
Play Control panel it no longer has any connectivity possible except during
boot?

Thank you. This is a home-built so I am the tech. ROTFL

No, not possible and not an issue related to Windows XP.

Thanks. Just curious then why the Windows (including XP) Master Volume
control panels all show a PC Speaker? Is this just so you can control the
volume of the single beep during boot? Thanks again.
