Can't get a handle

Windows XP Prof SP-1, all upgrades, no virus, HW no error, VIA chipset
After booting normaly I get error messages
"Error.LoadService
"Can't find Mapmem.dll
"Can't get a handle to \\.\mapmem

Recovering did not help
File Mapmem.dll never existed but there is Mapmem.sys (by VIA)
PC is very slow (almost no respond), hard disk is active all the time
windows are enlarging swap file every time after restarting (manual
settings or those suggested by windows have no effect)
Any suggestions
Thanks..

Just a guess but, if Mapmem.sys is by Via there is a good
chance that Mapmem.dll would be too. I would install/re-
install the latest 4 in 1 drivers from Via and see what
happens.

It seems (mapmem(.sys)) to be a part of n-Vidia graphic card driver
I'll try reinstall both chipset (4in1) and graphic's drivers. We'll see
Thanks
