Can't find Server Instance on startup

W

Woody Splawn

I am running VS (VB) on a local machine with SQL Server 2000 (Developer) as
the back-end.

Up till this morning I had a SQL Server instance name of P3800\NetSDK.(P3800
is the name of my machine) However, I uninstalled this instance. All of my
active tables etc., are now located instead in another instance. The
problem is that VS (2003) is remembering my old instance name on startup.
It takes about 30 or 45 seconds for it to bring up a SQL Server Login
Dialog. From here I can pick the new instance name but it would be better
of course to have VS default to the new name or at least, not look for the
old instance name.

Is there a way for me to do this?

Try to remove/change the data connection items under Server Explorer | Data
Connections in VS.NET.
