Can't find restore

J

Jeff.

I updated my Win XP Home to XP Pro.
After updating I try to run System restore, and I get a
message: The procedure entry point
RemoteAssistancePrepareSystem Restore could not be located
in the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll
I do not feel good about not having system restore. Can
anyone help. Thank you Jeffrey D. Phillips

Just a suggestion:
Do a search for the sr.inf file which is normally located in C:\windows.
Make sure you search hidden files in your search criteria.
Right-click on the sr.inf file and select the install option.

Jeff,

Try this:

1. Insert the Windows XP CD in. (If you have the source files in the hard
disk, then proceed to next step)
2. Type the following command in the RUN command box and hit enter.
3. "rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf"

System Restore core files should be reinstalled.
