Can't find programs after re-installing WinXP

Win XP crashed on my computer. I re-installed it in a new directory. How to I
access the programs I installed with the original WinXP?

You can't. They need to be reinstalled into your new Windows
installation.

You cannot access your former programs...
you should have performed a repair installation rather than a new one...

NOTEThere is a possibility that you can still perform a repair installtion
on your original windows folder

Right.

Maybe. That can solve some problems, but not all. But I agree that it
was at least worth a try.

Reinstall them from the original media into the new OS installation to
create the hundreds (maybe thousands) of necessary registry entries and
to place the dozens (maybe hundreds) of essential systems files in the
correct systems folders.
