can't find my saved word doc

Hi all, I've saved a word doc (2003 version) which I was working on at
college. I opened it again at home on my 2007 office edition, edited it,
click the saved icon but I can't now find the actual doc after my editing it.
Is there a recovery/temp folder for word dox? Please advise
