can't download files

mike

whenever i try to download files such a pdf documents or
even the adobe reader, I get an error message saying
explorer can't open the requested site. and the site could
not be found or is unavailable. I then tried the same
downloads on my parents comp which is networked via a
router to mine (ie we share the same internet connection)
and no problems were experienced at all. This problem
started last week and I can't link its onset to anything.
What is going on here?

Guess what mike, I got the same problem also from last
week, can't download pdfs, view flash site, even download
service packs...and again it's possible to download those
files without a hic with a computer on the network, that
behaviour started last week I think about the same time
after I used the windowsUpdates for the latest security
update: Q824145. Is that linked to those problems??? In
the meantime Netscape 7.1 does the job...so I want to get
rid of IE6 but that look like impossible, anybody got an
answer to those bits??? Thanx

No luck there indeed, but for me things are back on track,
though I had to totally get rid of IE6, using IE5 with
problem...and also Netscape...I'll wait a bit to find out
really what's going on with that pile of code...maybe they
are playing with our nerves somewhere.
Anyway good luck with yours, use Netscape 7.1, there's
nothing wrong with it and it's fast too. Ciao ciao!!!
