Can't delete printer - any ideas?

I had a network printer that I am now only using as a
local printer. Replaced the printer with another and it
is working fine. Now, I am upable to delete the previous
printer from my Printers and Faxes. Each time I try I get
error msg. "Printer cannot be deleted. Either printer
name was typed incorrectly or printer lost connection to
the server"... Which it has lost connection to server
because I removed it Friday. Any ideas how I can delete?

I had this problem also. Then I discovered there was a
document pending for that printer. Cleared the document
and then was able to delete printer.
