I have a Dell Dimension with XP. I have two folders that I can't delete.
These are folders I made myself and they show empty. The read only box is
checked and when I uncheck it and try to delete it reverts back to read only
every time. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks James

Here's a response I gave to a similar poster a couple of days ago. In your
case you may also need to use the attrib command in the command prompt
first, I'm not sure. Please post back to let me know if this works for you.

I've had similar problems. Renaming, rebooting, admin logons like others
have suggested didn't work. Even safemode reboot didn't let me delete it.

However, if you get the command prompt to the parent directory you should be
able to use the rmdir command with the /s and /q switches on the offending
directory.

Thanks for thr reply. I'm afraid I'm not comutor literate enough to know
about the command prompt and how to use it as You suggest. I'll have to do
some research. Thanks very much for your reply. James
