Hi Joe

You might want to try:

1. ntdsutil

2. symantic data analysis

3. go fixup

Make sure you've got a full system backup of the DC's first.

Kind regards

Thanks for reply.

Not sure about what symantic data analysis is...but let me
explain what's my problem again.

3 DCs. Say their names are:
Server A, server B, server C

Server C was disconnected from network not in a good way,
so it remains in AD and is causing replication problems
between server B and server A. So, i ran/follow on
server "A" the instructions in this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=216498, and i was able to
remove server "C" from server's "A" active directory
database. After do that, i tried to do the same with
Server's "B" Active Directory database, but i can't and i
recieve an error from NTDSUTIL: DsRemoveDsServerW error
0x20d9.

If i try to do the same, i mean, remove the server's "C"
reference from server's "B" database using ADSIedit, i
recieve an error too, but this time a "not enought space
error" ...

Need to remove those Server's "C" references. Any ideas?
I'm just a few steps away from running a DCpromo on
Server B if i don't find a solution ASAP....

Hi Joe

You shouldn't need to remove it again as the deletion you've done on Server
"A", the change should replicate (provide replication is working).

Symantic data analysis / go fixup looks for errors in the AD database and
attempts to repair them.

Mark indicated you need a backup before running
"Semantic Database Analysis" but I don't think it
was EMPHASIZED enough.

This is NOT just a casaul recommendation you hear
before doing things that the experts issue but themselves
ignore.

This is SERIOUS -- Microsoft actually documents "never
run SDA unless instructed to do so by MS Support WHILE
they are online with you."

Ok, it's not quite that dangerous but if it fails (miserably) you
LOSE the AD.

I wouldn't touch it without a SOLID BACKUP of the entire DC,
especially System State (or ASR in Win2003.)

First I would try a different DC -- just connect to another and
try the Metadata Cleanup.

You hit the problem! There is a problem with the AD
replication. In fact, when i run dcdiag on Server A, the
program give no errors. When i run dcdiag on Server B,
dcdiag show errors, indicating that can not replicate
because can not find Server C. In other words, Server B is
trying to replicate, always, with "C" server, not with
Server "A". That's the reason for not be able to recieve
metadata cleanup from Server "A", i think (the defunct
server)
