"Can't create the item"

When I attempt to email someone by clicking on their
email address on a web page,etc. I get the above message
and it will not open up a new message for me...any
suggestions.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Brad asked:

We are getting the same message on one user's machine:

Error Message from Outlook 2003 when clicking on a MailTo: hyperlink “Can’t
Create the itemâ€

The issue is not Profile/User specific.

Have tried MS KB223483 as well as the article mentioned in the previous
post. Removed and reinstalled Office 2003 with Service Pack 1.

So any other suggestions/tips would be welcome.

I had the same problem with Outlook 2003. It seems a common problem is the
frmcache.dat file becoming corrupted though I don't know how. In my case, I
simply deleted frmcache.dat, closed Outlook 2003, restarted it (a new
frmcache.dat is created) and now all is well. Hope this helps.
