Can't open faxes in Outlook. Get error message that says: Can't create file
FAX.TIF It says to check permissons in the folder, which I have done, and
the permissions would appear to allow me to open the faxes, but they won't
open.

It would be helpful if you provided some information.
Like your Outlook version (since no current versions even receive faxes).
And your file association for TIF files.

Outlook Secure Temp Folder problem.

With Outlook closed, click Start>Run and enter %TEMP% in the Open field.
Click OK. You should see a Windows Explorer window with the folder list in
the left-hand pane. (If you don't see the folder list in Windows XP, click
the Folders button inthe toolbar.) Just below the folder named Temp you
should see one called Temporary Internet Files. Click the plus sign to its
left. You should then see a subfolder whose name starts with OLK. Select
this folder so that it's contents display in the right-hand pane. Click
Edit>Select All and then click the Delete button (or press Delete or click
File>Delete). Close the Explorer window and restart Outlook. Your
attachment should open now.

I'm curious, though. What program is routing faxes to your Outlook Inbox?
Must be one of the Internet Fax Services because none of the current modem
fax services can do this.

I am having trouble opening fxm files in outlook as well. I did what you
said to do and I still get a blank screen when opening the files. I use
winfax mini by symantec to open my faxes. It works just fine on my pc but on
my laptop it doesn't work. I have Outlook 3. Thanks
