Can't connect to USB Hard Drive Connected to Computer On LAN

On my LAN there are 2 Computers X and Y. X has a USB external hard drive
attached. I have shared the drive. When I try to connect from computer Y I
get the error message in event log and the connection does not work:

"The server's configuration parameter "irpstacksize" is too small for the
server to use a local device. Please increase the value of this parameter."

The message let's you connect to a Microsoft Help website that suggests
a modification of the registry. However, I am running XP Prof and the
registry key does not exist. The USB dirve is 250 GB and has about 125 GB
of music.

Is there something I can do to fix this? Should I create a registry key?

Thanks

Kevin,

The server, ie Computer X, is the problem. Computer X should have that registry
key. If it doesn't, yes, try and create it. And make sure that you try hard
enough giving it the right value - I've heard some folks say they've gone as
high as 48 or so.
