Can't connect to my home network

I have a windows xp laptop for work that's part of a domain. When I take it
home an try to connect to my network, I can't access anything.
I changed the IP address to correspond to my home network.
I changed the DNS to the same one my router uses to access the internet.
I'm able to ping the router and other computers within my home network but
I'm not able to access the internet or any other computers at home.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jasper

Take your computer back to work and have your systems administrator
rejoin it to the domain. Do not change these settings. When you want to
use the laptop at home:

Note - you don't need to change to a workgroup just to access resources
on it. You shouldn't play with your laptop's network settings at all.
Once you've logged in using your domain account (using cached
credentials), and have an IP address on the home network, you can map
drives, use printers, whatnot, very easily - one way, in a command
line:

net use x: \\computername\sharename /user:computername\username <enter>

I didn't change the workgroup settings so my laptop is still part of my
company domain. All I did was change the IP configuration to match mine at
home just as if I took my laptop to a wireless hotspot and let it auto
configure my IP configuration. I just don't know why I can't seem to access
the internet.
I have a windows 2000 laptop that's part of my company domain and when I
take that home and change the IP configuration, I'm able to get to the
internet with no problems. With my Win2000 box, I can also access my home
computers using Net Use, but I can't do that with my XP box. Why am I
having a problem with my XP laptop?

Thanks,
Jasper

I don't know. Check your firewall configuration. Re-enter the WEP or WPA
key.
