Can't connect to my home desktop from my laptop

I have XP Pro running on two desktops and a laptop. Main desktop is
using a Westell Wireless router for DSL connection and home networking.
2nd desktop can see and connect to laptop. Laptop can see and connect
to 2nd desktop. Main desktop can see and connect to both but 2nd
desktop and laptop can only see but can't connect to any shares are
printer on main desktop. Tried to rerun the network setup wizard on the
main desktop but I get a "can't complete" try again error. Tried to
turn off windows firewall but didn't help. How can the laptop see the
main desktop but not be able to connect to it?

First I would start by broadcasting each computer into the same workgroup.
Once this is done, it may take anywhere from 5-10 minutes for the cache to
sync and update. Using 'nbtstat' (Start > Run > ' cmd ')
1. nbtstat -R (Reload)
2. nbtstat -c (Cache)
3. nbtstat -RR (ReleaseRefresh)

This will force the client to update its cache. Verify each computer has
Sharing Enabled. Right Click a folder that you would like to share, and go to
Sharing and Security. Select the appropriate options on the "Network sharing
and security Option." Now you should not have any issues. More information
can be viewed in the Help and Support Center (F1 Key in Windows Explorer)
Search for "Sharing files and folders overview"
