Can't Connect to FTP Folders

Recently I can't connect to my FTP folders in My Network Places on a Windows
2000 computer. FTP stalls and give me an error message as follows:

You do not have permission to acess the folder, access is denied.

I know that it works because I installed Ws_FTP program and I can connect
with that program with the same configuration as described for FTP folders.
Does anybody have any suggestiobs why I was able to connect before and now I
can't?

Just an update to my question:

The solution described in Microsoft KB260156 doesn't apply to me. None of
my password contain unacceptable characters. However, the problem still
remains.
